CPMP volunteer team host a Network Gathering session on August 6, 2016, where 2 volunteers shared their industrial knowledge and job seeking experience.
Ms. Lucy Lu spoke about communication skills and why it is a must-have for all types of positions. As a practitioner of communication skills with experience ranging from front-end teller to back-end analyst, Lucy gladly shared her professional experience with attendees and answered their questions.
Ms. Shuanglu Liu spoke on data analysis industry trend and common software. Speaking from her in-depth experience doing Data Analysis in both pharmaceutical and insurance industry, she shared her knowledge and tips of using common software, including SAS, MS SQL Server, Python, Tableau, R and Excel. The seminar was then followed by resume editing session, where 4 resumes of audience from various backgrounds were reviewed and commented on by 2 speakers. The rest of the audience also listened actively and contributed opinions.
The participants were fully engaged in the seminar, which due to the extensive questions and discussions, ran 20 minutes beyond the targeted ending time. Lucy and Shuanglu reported that it was a great pleasure speaking with all attendees. They hope to see the group more often and wish them success in their careers.
Last but not least, with the positive feedbacks received, CPMP plans to conduct an SAS training class on Saturday, August 20, 2016, spoken by Shuanglu.
