The Annual CPMPAC Leadership Conference is coming back this Oct again. CPMPAC stands for the Chinese Project Management Professionals Association of Canada. It is a federal registered NPO that focuses on the professional development and networking of Chinese originated PMP and BA practitioners. We are proud to be a 11 years old independent organization that powered completely by our volunteers, serviced cumulatively over 1,000 members.

The Annual Leadership Conference is the biggest and the only leadership focused conference within Chinese community in Toronto. The purpose of the conference is to bring excellent leaders from various industries to share their knowledge and passion of leadership to our members, hence, to promote and establish platform for leadership development within Chinese professional community. It not only serves as a powerful catalyst within the community to inspire and motivate leadership, but also fuels the community and economic development.

For the past 3 years, CPMPAC have successfully host such event with 2 other Chinese Professional associations: Canadian Chinese Finance Association and Canadian-Chinese Professional Accountant Association, over hundreds of members attend this event. CCFA (Canadian Chinese Finance Association) is an independent NPO established in 2001, service finance professionals and scholars in both Canada and China, with over 3,000 members in both countries. It sees itself as a bridge to facilitate the development of business relations, the discovery of investment opportunities, the promotion of cutting edge financial education as well as the establishment of world leading regulatory and business practices. CCPAA (Canadian-Chinese Professional Accountants Association) is also an independent NPO established in 2008, services Chinese origin professionals who work in accounting, auditing, taxation and related areas. It seeks to enhance communication in research, education, regulation and business practices of accounting in both Canada and China. Currently, CCPAA services over 2,000 of accounting practitioners.

Every year, we host the event with a special theme, this year it is – Leadership Best Practice.

We have invited executives from top Canadian banks, technology companies and government to share their successful stories and experience of being a leader. Moreover, we also have professional leadership coach to share with us of their latest best practice findings. Ian Laliberté, Vice President, Delivery, Shared Services Canadian Banking and Wealth Technology Solutions, TD Bank Group

As Vice President of Delivery, Shared Services, Canadian Banking and Wealth Technology Solutions for TD Bank Group, Ian is responsible for strategy, operating model and overall operations of IT for Canadian Banking and Wealth.

Ian joined TD in January 2014 as Vice President, Canadian Banking, Auto Finance and Wealth Management PMO and led the transformation of the execution framework. In this role he was responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of the change portfolio for both business and technology initiatives.

In over 17 years he has held senior positions leading business and IT transformation through turnaround, realignment and revitalization within international distribution, manufacturing, insurance (Life and GI) and banking industries. Prior to joining TD Ian honed his IT, Project Management and leadership skills during time at Canadian Bearings. He has also held executive technology roles with Aviva Insurance, which included Change and IT Strategy, EPMO, Management Information, Analytics and he has led Commercial Lines business transformation, and the implementation of a business and operating model for Aviva’s Digital business.

Ian graduated from New York Institute of Technology with an MBA in Global Management. Ian’s latest leadership thinking has also been recognized as part of the top 50 thought-leaders in change excellence and he has been published in 2014 Project Management Best Practices: Achieving Global Excellence – 3rd Ed (by Dr. Kerzner), in 2012 Managing the PMO Lifecycle, by Dr. Karkukly, and many other PMI publications on standards.

2 Pubudu Premawardena, Vice President, Internal Ratings Management, Scotiabank


Pubudu is leading a team responsible for developing and implementing models for operational risk, non-retail internal risk ratings, AIRB credit risk parameters, and IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss. Pubudu has over 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry ranging from financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions, portfolio management, credit adjudication, model development, model validation, and project management. Pubudu is a computer engineer, a CFA, and a FRM. Outside of work Pubudu enjoys spending time with his family, yoga, and meditation.


3 Geoff Langdon, AVP Canadian Banking & Wealth Technology Delivery Shared Services, TD Bank Group


Mr. Langdon is an experienced technology executive with 20 years of experience in project management, technology architecture, and large-scale business transformation in the Wealth Management and broader Financial Services industries.  He is currently an executive for TD Bank, in the Canadian Banking and Wealth (CB&W) Delivery Shared Services organization.  Previous to joining TD, Geoff was a Director for Deloitte’s Technology Consulting group, advising North American clients on their technology delivery initiatives.


His recent experience has been in leading the Agile delivery transformation initiative for CB&W, establishing new practices and a target operating model to shift technology delivery to an agile and product-based model.  As the executive overseeing the shared services delivery, he has been heavily involved in recent initiatives to implement a broad data and analytics platform, revamp TD Wealth’s online trading platforms, and implement strategic platforms to meet the CRM2 regulatory requirements for performance calculation and reporting.


4 Sami Tarazi, Senior Director, Enterprise Information Management, RBC


Sami Tarazi has a recognized track record in building and maintaining distributed teams, planning and delivering across borders, cultures and technologies.  Sami has built up a reputable leadership in the implementation of practical information technology solutions to support business functions for strategic development, process implementation and optimization, service delivery, and integration environments.

For the past 3 years, Sami has been focusing on data management space, specifically Big Data Management, on both data warehouse and data Lake eco-systems. Sami is recognized for leading and implementing two major changes in the data management space at RBC: Agile Methodology and Accelerated Analytics Labs.


Sami has 20+ IT experience in the financial services sector and holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool.


5 Charlie Regan, President, Leadership Charisma Group

6 Daju Gu, President Razor Risk Technologies, TMX Group


Daju Gu is currently President of TMX Razor Risk Technologies. Daju has more than 20 years’ experience in financial industry, providing risk management solutions to Tier 1 Banks, Insurance Companies, Clearing Houses and Exchanges. Daju is very familiar with international regulatory frameworks and has extensive experience in financial risk management. He has successfully led many regulatory implementations (Basel 2, 2.5 and 3 and CCP) for large financial institutions in North America. In recent years, Daju’s team has collaborated with various Chinese financial institutions in OTC derivative clearing, PFMI implementation, derivative trading technology and risk management training.


7 Dianna Zhang, Vice President, Capital and Exposure Analysis, Scotiabank


Dianna Zhang is the President of the Canadian Chinese Finance Association and Vice President of Global Risk Management in Scotia Bank. In her current role, Dianna has responsibility for reporting and analytics for the Bank’s market risk capital, credit risk capital, capital optimization, and non-retail expected credit loss for IFRS 9 and risk data aggregation projects in Market risk and counterparty credit risk. She have over 20 years of managerial and leadership experience in both Canada and China. Dianna holds an MBA and a CFA designation. She has extensive financial analytics experience in enterprise risk, capital management and stress testing covering all risk types. Dianna is also a frequent speaker in multiple conferences in North America and Asia.



Gail Levitt, CEO, Levitt Communications Inc.

Gail Levitt, Ph.D., is a knowledgeable strategist, facilitator, and coach dedicated to developing global leaders and their teams to negotiate and influence others more efficiently and effectively.  She provides a unique perspective as an experienced project manager and project team leader, project business development strategist, communications manager, and corporate consultant.  A member of the Sauder School of Business part- time faculty for Executive Education since 2008, Dr. Levitt is the Program Leader for the Certificate in Administrative Leadership and is an instructor for both public and in-company programs related to leadership, presentation skills, negotiations, and project management.

Gail is President of Levitt Communications Inc., founded in 1992 as a corporate service organization offering courseware, templates and tools, training, and consulting in negotiations, leadership,  collaboration, and influence. Previously, she worked for 20 years for leading organizations in publishing, packaged goods, technology, education, and government, including Hewlett-Packard, Nabisco, Nestle, and Ryerson University, resulting in extensive negotiations expertise in pitfalls and best practices.  Gail holds a Doctorate in Cultural Communications from the University of Exeter in England.  She also earned a M.A. Degree with high honors in English from the University of Illinois in Urbana- Champagne, and a B.A. Degree in English from Hobart-William Smith College in Geneva, New York, graduating Summa Cum Laude with highest honors.  Gail has spoken extensively at conferences on negotiating, and has written extensively on negotiation and influence issues for professional publications.  She is the author of the new book entitled “Team Development for Project Managers and Business Analysts” that has earned rave reviews from leading negotiation and influence experts in both fields.

About CPMP

CPMPAC is a not-for-profit professional organization run by a group of volunteers who are project professionals. CPMPAC is an active professional community and a learning/sharing platform for Project Managers, Business Analysts and all project professionals. About CCFA

The Canadian Chinese Finance Association (“CCFA”) is an independent and not-for- profit organization established in 2001. It is an organization of finance professionals and scholars in both Canada and China. Current, CCFA has over 3,000 full time members in both countries.

CCFA sees itself as a bridge to facilitate the development of business relations, the discovery of investment opportunities, the promotion of cutting edge financial educations as well as the establishment of world leading regulatory and business practices. Over the last decade, CCFA has taken a leadership role in organizing finance forums, seminars and education workshops in both Canada and China. In addition, partnering with government bodies, major financial institutions and educational organizations, CCFA has hosted numerous delegations and professional exchanges in a wide range of areas. The CCPAA is an independent and not-for-profit organization of professionals and scholars who are of Chinese origin and work in accounting, auditing and taxation or the related areas, including banking, investment, insurance, education institutions, government agencies, etc.

Our Goals
The CCPAA encourages members to understand both Canadian and Chinese accounting, auditing, finance and taxation systems in a broad view and actively participate in the modernization process of Chinese accounting industry.
The CCPAA welcomes opportunities, which conform to Bylaws and the interests of the CCPAA members, in such forms as joint research projects, education programs, publications or any others, in accounting, auditing, finance taxation or the related areas.
